SPOUSES AND GUESTS TOUR
HISTORIC GEARY COUNTY
The Kiwanians of Junction City and Junction City South invite the spouses and guests of Kansas Kiwanians to step back in time for the Historic Geary County Tour. Participants will leave the Courtyard Marriott at 9:30 a.m. to visit the Spring Valley School Site and the Farmstead at Wetzel’s Cabin. At 10:30 a.m. they will enjoy the Starcke House Museum Tour at Geary County Historical Museum. After a catered lunch at the museum, attendees can sit back and enjoy the show. The “Undercover Story” retraces history in an unusual fashion – featuring women’s undergarments of the 1920’s, 1930’s, and 1940’s. Always informative and certainly entertaining, this unique look at history will leave you appreciating today’s more modern comforts. Transportation will be provided – and participants will return to the hotel around 1:00 p.m. Don’t miss this special tour!
SILENT AUCTION ITEMS NEEDED
You can help us make a difference by helping to provide scholarships to our 2006-07 Club Presidents-Elect and Lt. Governors to attend K University this fall. Plans are to sponsor the Kiwanis International K University in our very own Kansas District. K University is a one day “traveling road show” of workshops and forums focused on team building, motivation, communication, and managing change. Kiwanis leaders and professional staff guide sessions and discussions on a variety of issues, including Kiwanis future, adjusting to change, membership recruitment, service, and more.
- Attendees meet International President Steve Siemens, Executive Director, and International staff
- Interact with other motivated Kiwanis members and take home new ideas
- Learn about the Kiwanis vision for the future
We are asking you to make a difference by bringing a silent auction item to the District Convention in Junction City in August. The proceeds from the auction will be used to bring this unique educational program to the Kansas District in 2006-07 and to provide scholarships to the above groups. We hope you and your club will aid us in this very worth while project.
KIWANIS FAMILY STORE AT DISTRICT
CONVENTION
This year the Kiwanis Family Store will display and sell Kiwanis International merchandise at the Kansas District Convention in the Cedar Room. Merchandise may be purchased with cash or checks. This is an effort by the TAG Committee to help Brand Kiwanis by exposing Kansas District members to available Kiwanis items.
Help Brand Kiwanis and Watch for the Family Store at Junction City.
