KI Searches for New Executive Director

The Executive Director Search Committee has participated in a training session on interviewing techniques and hired the executive search firm Tryon and Heidemann. The committee has been interviewing candidates and plans to have an Executive Director in place by October 1.
KI Board has requested staff to update the existing Code of Ethics and Responsibilities for Adults Working with Youth in Kiwanis-family Sponsored or Related Activities and determine costs for a pocket resource booklet for all Kiwanians and adults working with children and youth.
The International staff has been asked to prepare a plan to utilize opportunities including new membership categories and club models that would be permitted by the amendment pending before the 2006 House of Delegates to create provisional, interim, or at-large Kiwanis membership status for Key Club and Circle K members upon graduation or when otherwise eligible for club membership.
To strengthen the viability of new formed clubs, dueal and see membership is new Kiwanis clubs is limited to five members.
KI has adopted a goal of 5,000 Life members and asked Staff to develop a plan and support materials to achieve this goal.

Kiwanis International’s strategic plan carries the following vision. “Kiwanis, one million members strong by our 100th anniversary in 2015, will be the most effective adult and youth volunteer service organization worldwide.” This envisioned future is support by six goal areas: Membership, Voice, Leadership, Development, Diversity, Structure, and Finance.
