Circle K Has Bull Session Campout and Fundraiser
This year’s Fall Social was an awesome time, and for all of those who missed it this year better luck next time. The campout took place at Camp Alexander near Emporia. Circle K members from around the state came together to participate in leadership and renew old friendships. With wilderness all around, we still maintained the amenities of plumbing and electricity.

Once everyone (i.e. Joseph and Stuart) arrived the activities began, starting with tent set up. When that was completed, some played basketball, football, or even cards. The women challenged the men to a game of football, but the women quickly realized they were no match for the Mighty Men. While both teams played hard, shedding blood, sweat, and tears, the men proved unstoppable. (Some accounts of the football game may be biased.)
The ropes course was next on the list. First we conquered the Massive 20ft. Wall, where some were boosted, and others were pulled up and over. We then headed to the Spider Web, where some members of the group were blinded, and others given a chance to lead. Everybody had to get past the web without being stuck and could only use a single pass once. With the Web behind us we went to the Piranha Lake, where we had to use three logs to cross the span without losing anyone to the Deep Blue. The lesson of all of these feats was that when Circle K’ers work together, we can conquer anything.
After a long day we all replenished on some tasty soup, which Laura, Kelly and Catherine prepared. We then turned our attention to dessert. While a full fledged fire proved elusive for long periods of time, we managed it long enough to make some s’mores.
While we had enough tents to go around; nobody trusted Chad’s tent when the clouds rolled in and for good reason, as there were puddles inside of it the next morning. With the campsite all picked up, we set off for the carwash, which served as a fundraiser for Hurricane Victims. The carwash was a success due to the support of local Kiwanians and to Rachel’s friends and family from Emporia. Once the car wash was over, we all realized the weekend was regrettably ending as well. As we all returned to our respective places, we had with us the Hope of Bull Session in our hearts.
