The Kiwanis Clubs of Emporia invite all Kiwanians and their spouses and guests to come to Emporia for the Mid-Winter Conference and a full fledged Western Round Up.  Help brand Kiwanis and dig out those cowboy boots, belts, and hats.  The Round up will begin on Friday, January 20 at the Best Western Hospitality House. All Kiwanians and their guests are invited to the western festivities at 8 pm with Jim Hoy “Folk Tales from the Flint Hills”. Jim is famous for sharing his stories and songs about our unique Kansas heritage.  Dr. Hoy teaches folklore and literature at Emporia State University is the director of the Center for Great Plains Studies.

The “K” branding irons are getting hot, and plans are being finalized for a Hoe Down of fellowship, informational meetings, and a variety of long lasting memories.  Come and share in this special event and learn more about our “K” and your great Kansas District.

Spouses and guests will have the opportunity to attend a tour of the recently named historic site of William Allen White’s home “Red Rocks” and the Howe House and Welsh Farmstead.  Plus extra surprises.  The Emporia Tour will be from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Saturday with a cost of $15.

Mark your calendar now for January 20-21, 2006.  See y’all at the Emporia Round Up.
