2004-05 Board of Trustees Summary

Dot Leakey, District Secretary

The final meeting of the 2004-05 Board of Trustees was held Friday, August 12, 2005 during the District Convention at the Holiday Inn, Salina.

 

Two members of the Board of Trustees were absent.  A distinguished guest was Kiwanis International Trustee/District Counselor for 2005-06 Peter Mihelich from St. Charles, Missouri.  Peter Mihelich was assigned as District Counselor by 2005-06 Kiwanis International President Steve Siemens.

 

Other guests included Past Governors Dick Bills, Rusty Thomas, and Eliot Potter; Foundation President David Williams and Secretary/Treasurer Kenton Krehbiel; Lt. Governors - Elect Julia Lambert, Ronald Williams, Sue Blechl, and Sheila Showalter; Governor - Elect Candidate Max Klamm and Past Lt. Governors Bob Casino and Ken Phillips.  Circle K representatives present were Catherine Wilkerson, District Editor and Janell Ternes, Circle K Lt. Governor South.  Key Club Governor Eric Anderson; Aktion Administrator, Larry Zenor; TAG Team member, Dwayne Shoemaker;YCPO chair, Pam Fajen; Education chair, Ken Kern; Administrative Secretary Amy Campbell were also present.

 

District Treasurer Vern Schallehn reported on the financial state of the District for the period from October 1, 2004 to July 31, 2005.  The report included a portion of the district convention receipts and only some of the convention expenses.

 

Reports were received from the District Secretary, Dot Leakey; Kansas Kiwanis Foundation President, David Williams; Worldwide Service Project/ International Foundation Chair, Dick Bills; Education Club Development Chair, Ken Kern; 2006 International Convention Chair, Dot Leakey; Builders Club Administrator, Laverna Leeson; Aktion Administrator, Larry Zenor; Circle K Representative, Catherine Wilkerson; Key Club Governor, Eric Anderson; YCPO chair, Pam Fajen; and PAC chair, Marc Potter.

 

The Board of Trustees:

·         Accepted the resignation of the Kiwanis Club of Peabody, effective May 31, 2005.

·         Approved the invitation of the Kiwanis Club of Dodge City to host the 2007 Mid-Winter Convention in Dodge City.

·         Approved the 55th Annual District Convention official program.

·         Appointed the firm of Logan Schmidt and Lerner, PA to audit the 2004-05 district                          financial records.

·         Established the final date for 2004-05 expense reports to be submitted for payment.
