Annual Business Meeting Summary

The Kansas District Annual Business Meeting was held August 13, 2005 during the District Convention at the Holiday Inn, Salina, KS. The meeting was attended by 155 club delegates and 14 delegates at large for a total of 169 delegates. In Kansas, 65 of the 103 clubs were represented at the business meeting.
A total of 301 attended the convention. This included 199 pre-registered Kiwanians, 34 walk-ins, 37 guests and 31 members of sponsored programs.
Resolutions of Recognition were adopted for:
· 2005-06 Kiwanis International Trustee/District Counselor Peter Mihelich from St. Charles, Missouri.
· Division 4 and 5 Host Kiwanis Clubs Lindsborg, Abilene, McPherson, Salina, Junction City South, Pratt Club of Governor McCall, Manhattan Solar Club of Governor-Elect John Fajen, and Convention Planning Chair Keith Kandt, Lindsborg Kiwanis Club.
· Administrative Resolution for approval to vote on proposed and ratified amendments on annual collection of dues at the upcoming Mid-Winter Conference.
· Administrative Resolution that at a future date the District’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws will be adjusted to reflect the requirements set forth for 501(c)(3) organizations.
Elected as District Officers for 2005-06 were:
· Governor: John Fajen, Manhattan Solar
· Governor-Elect: Max Klamm, Kansas City
· Treasurer: Vern Schallehn, Old Mission
Paper ballot election was conducted to verify District official support for International Trustee Candidate Rusty Thomas, Lawrence Club, vote was 124 to 23 in support. Rusty plans to rerun in 2006 in Montreal. Jim Mitchell, Lt. Governor of Division 4 and 2006 Convention Planning Chair, invited the District Kiwanians and guests to the 56th Annual District Convention to be held at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Junction City on August 10-12, 2006.
